RTMLink SMS Consent

Last updated: May 23, 2026

RTMLink is a Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) platform used by physical therapy and occupational therapy clinics. Patients enrolled in an RTM program receive recurring SMS messages containing links to daily symptom surveys and exercise program check-ins.

How Patients Consent (Call to Action)

Patients are enrolled in RTMLink's messaging program by their licensed healthcare provider during a clinical appointment. At the time of enrollment, the following consent disclosure is presented to the patient:

The patient acknowledges this disclosure and provides explicit consent before any messages are sent. The enrolling provider documents the patient's consent within the RTMLink platform.

Enrollment Form (Consent Collection UI)

The following shows the RTMLink enrollment interface where healthcare providers collect and document patient consent. The "SMS Consent" toggle must be enabled for the patient to receive messages:

Contact & Consent

Enter the patient's contact information and communication preferences.

Primary contact number for SMS surveys
Required if email consent is enabled
SMS Consent *
Patient consents to receive SMS surveys. By enabling, the provider confirms the patient has been informed of: program name (RTMLink Remote Monitoring), message frequency (up to 1/day), that message and data rates may apply, and that they can reply STOP at any time to opt out.
Email Consent
Patient consents to receive email communications

When the provider enables the "SMS Consent" toggle and saves the enrollment, RTMLink records the consent method ("portal"), timestamp, and the provider who collected the consent. This creates an auditable record of the patient's opt-in.

Opt-In Methods

Opt-In Confirmation

When a patient opts in via keyword, they receive the following confirmation message:

"RTMLink: You're now subscribed to daily survey messages from [Clinic Name]. Msg frequency: up to 1/day. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel."

Opt-Out

Patients may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Upon opting out, the patient receives a confirmation:

"You have successfully been unsubscribed. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe."

Patients may also request removal from the messaging program by contacting their healthcare provider directly.

Help

Patients may reply HELP at any time for assistance information. They will receive:

"Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg & Data Rates May Apply."
